Can I Get A Whoop Whoop? Finally Gifted! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

Well, here it is, Friday again, and we all know what that means - - - it's time for us to get our whoop whoop on!!  Are you ready?  Let's go!

*&*&*&*&*&*&*

Many of you know that I was out of commission and out of the blogging world for most of the year in 2022.  During that time I undertook a pretty major handwork project.  Hexies seemed like just the ticket for something small and portable to take with me and work on in my chair, so I put together a small kit and started.

At first, I intended to ...

Make-A-List Monday - Quilting Week Continues! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

Welcome to another beautiful fall Monday!  Well, actually not too beautiful around here - it was gray and overcast all day, but at least it's finally sweater weather!  I do love that it puts me more in the mood to work in my studio, and this view of the tree outside my window always makes me smile....

So now, let's see how I did on last week's list....

1.  Quilt the top for the special recipient.
2.  Quilt the baby quilt.
3.  Quilt Nathanael's annual quilt.
4.  Quilt Lilli's annual quilt.
I've lumped ...

Can I Get a Whoop Whoop? Ministry Quilts Everywhere! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

Friday has rolled around once again, and we all know what that means - it's time for us to get our whoop whoop on!!  Are you ready?  Let's get started!

*&*&*&*&*&*&*

It's been hard getting back into the swing of things this week, following my time in New Orleans, but I did manage to get some things done!  We are working on another big project for the quilt ministry - not as big as the last two, but still substantial - providing bed quilts for a local women's shelter.  They need five full size quilts, thirteen twin size ...

Can I Get a Whoop Whoop? Life is Good! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

It's hard to believe, but another week has come and gone and Friday has rolled around again!  And we all know what that means - it's time for us to get our whoop whoop on!  Are you ready?  Then let's go!

*&*&*&*&*&*&*

I've had a good time this week, with several projects coming to fruition...

My first peony bloom of the season...

...and the planter and pots are all done!

I delivered this finished customer quilt - I don't want to show the front because it will be a gift, but the texture on the back ...

Can I Get A Whoop Whoop? A VERY Productive Week! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

Well, it's Friday again, and hopefully you're not snowed in somewhere! .Although you know what they say - snow day, sew day!  But it being Friday, it's time for us to get our whoop whoop on, so let's get started!

*&*&*&*&*&*&*

I started out this week with the hope of getting a quilt for my great-niece finished, and I'm so happy to say that I met that goal!

It's a sweet little quilt, and I backed it with leftover bits and bobs of the fabric I used for the hearts on the front.  Some ...

Can I Get A Whoop Whoop? Well Begun Is Half Done.. from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

Friday has rolled around once again, and we all know what that means, right?  It's time for us to get our whoop whoop on!!  I hope you are ready - I know I am - so let's get started!

*&*&*&*&*&*&*

I started on the grandkids' annual quilts this week - and well begun is half done, right?  Theses beautiful fabrics will be part of Lilli's annual quilt this year!  This is the first cut; my next step is to sew them together in strip sets and then cut again into strips of five 2.5" squares.

These are the ...

Can I Get a Whoop Whoop? A Fun And Fruitful Day.... from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

Friday has rolled around once more, and we all know what that means - it's time for us to get our whoop whoop on!!  I hope you're ready - just remember, it doesn't necessarily mean a finish, just something that you're doing a little happy dance about.  And I hope everyone has had something to whoop about this week!  So let's get started...

*&*&*&*&*&*&*

Thursday was a good day in my studio!  A friend of mine who recently got a long arm machine came over and I gave her some tips for quilting, since she hasn ...

Make-A-List Monday - Phil, Where Are You? from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

Welcome to a brand new week!  Here's hoping my sew-jo has come back (I'm not sure yet, but keeping my fingers crossed!) and it will be more productive than the last one.  So let's see how last week's list went...

1.  Quilt at least three quilt ministry quilts, then bind and wash.
I didn't quilt any, but I did bind and wash seven quilts for the quilt ministry...

With the addition of these quilts, we have a sufficient amount of quilts on hand for immediate needs that we can slow down a bit ...

Can I Get A Whoop Whoop? Or Maybe Just My Sew-Jo.... from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

 Hi, all!

Wow, it's Friday already!  This week flew by, and I don't have a lot to show for it.  So I'm counting on you all to share your whoop-worthy moments (maybe it will make my sew-jo feel guilty and show back up!) So are you ready?  Let's get started!

*&*&*&*&*&*&*

As I said, my sew-jo just got up and moved out on me this week.  I couldn't get motivated to sew, but I did put the binding on a bunch of quilts for the quilt ministry....

...so I did battle through some of it.  The ...

Make-A-List Monday - And They Just Keep Crankin' Out.... from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

 Hi, all!

Is it as hot where you are as it is here?  Whew, it's been a scorcher over the past week, with ridiculous humidity levels that make it really easy to stay inside.  Unfortunately, my sew-jo seemed to go into hiding so I didn't get as much done as I'd have liked, but I still had a respectable week.  Let's take a look at last week's list...

1.  Bind five quilts for the quilt ministry.
Done - and I've actually put binding on six more too!  We'll get that stash built back up ...

Can I Get A Whoop Whoop? A Different Kind of Week... from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

Wow - is it Friday already?  This week has literally flown by, along with the rest of July.  Can you believe that next week it's August, and in most of the country, kids will be heading back to school within a few days or weeks?  I spent some extra time with the kids this week after my daughter reminded me that they start school next week (fingers crossed!) I'm kind of curious how my youngest granddaughter will do back in the classroom full time - she honestly never stops talking!

But enough chatter (I wonder where Emmy gets ...

Make-A-List Monday - It IS May, Isn't It? from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

Has the weather in your part of the world gone nuts like it has here?  This morning it was 43 degrees, windy, rainy and cold!!! And it's MAY!  Seriously??? I am ready for some pretty warm sunny weather.  I had every intention of working in the front planters this morning, but not when it's cold and icky outside.  So if you've got pretty weather where you are, can you please send some our way?

I had a busy week last week, so let's see how the list went...

1.  Quilt at least four more ...

Can I Get A Whoop Whoop? It's Been a Busy Week! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

Wow, Friday sure got here in a hurry, didn't it?  Busy hands keep that clock spinning, it seems.  But Friday means that it's time for us to get our whoop whoop on, so let's get started!

*&*&*&*&*&*&*

This week I have been working on finishing up quilts for the high school graduates at our church, something our quilt ministry has done for the past several years.  This year we need twenty-two quilts, so there's been a lot of quilting and binding going on!

I quilted this stack of quilts and took them to church on ...

Fiddle Sticks from From the Strawberry Patch...

I've been busy the last few days quilting up a few quilt tops for a friend, they were donated to her Quilt Ministry. They are both wonderful, scrappy quilts; my favorite kind! The first one is bright and spring-like in its coloration. Working on it was like a ray of warm sunshine. (Something that has been desperately needed in our neck of the gloomy, rainy woods lately). My friend told me that

Can I Get A Whoop Whoop? Snow Day, Sew Day!! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

Here it is, Friday again - and you know what that means!  It's time for us to get our whoop whoop on!  I hope you're ready, so let's get started!

*&*&*&*&*&*&*

This morning when I woke up, I checked the weather like I always do.  Imagine my surprise when I saw that they were predicting 1-3 inches of snow for us!  Well, in Tennessee that doesn't mean much -  we get lots of predicted snow that never happens.  But at 7 a.m. I looked out the window.....

Snow!!  Big fat beautiful flakes - and the best kind ...
